I've never been much of a watercolor painter as I tend to favor the forgiveness of oils and acrylics. My youngest boy, on the other hand, really delights in its unpredictability and loves to watch what happens when the colors meet and dance across his page. "COOL! WOW!!!! WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT?!!" he will exclaim excitedly. So today I dusted off my watercolor cobwebs (the first time in probably 20 years!) and we had fun painting and discovering together. As a parent, you always want your children to find their own talents and passions but we'd all be lying if we said there isn't at least an eensy teensy part of us that hopes they'll share ours.
